DCLM Higher Everyday 2 November 2024 — Anointing, Not Ability
DCLM Higher Everyday 2 November 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Anointing, Not Ability
Topic: Anointing, Not Ability
Text: Isaiah 10:23-27
23For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
25For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
26And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
27And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
Key Verse: “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing” (Isaiah 10:27).
Message
Many today in the course of their education become so acquainted with secular knowledge and competences that they play down on God’s anointing in their lives. They are very conscious of their secular and office operations to the point of forgetting that the things of God are controlled strictly by His Spirit. Others concentrate on activities, such as church administration, singing and alms giving without giving themselves to prayers and the ministration of the word to attract the power of God. A few more are serving God with unclean hands and hearts and rely on the arm of the flesh to succeed in ministry, instead of repenting and turning away completely from their evil for God to use them.

Child of God do not rely on your ability because by the arm of the flesh shall no man prevail. Avoid overconfidence during your examinations or tests. Yes, you need to study very well before exams but commit your success into the hands of God. It is never by our power but by the power of God – by the reason of His anointing.
Quote: Do not rely on your ability
Challenge: Put your trust in God.
Prayer for today: Lord, break me and make me humble.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
