TOPIC: AT GOD’S DIRECTION
TEXT: NUMBERS 9:20-23
21 And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.
22 Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed.
23 At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
Key Verse: “At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses” (Numbers 9:23).
MESSAGE:
God wants us to obey Him at all times and also be a blessing to others. The story was told of a man who determined that he will always obey God in all things no matter how unreasonable it may seem. One day, as he was driving his car, he heard a voice telling him to stop at a grocery store and buy a bottle of milk. He initially did not understand what it meant since he did not need milk, but all the same, he obeyed.
Then as he got to a road junction, he was led to turn towards a particular house, yet he still could not understand. It was already getting late, and he was wondering what response he would receive from the strangers he was directed to.
As he got to the house and knocked, lo and behold, a man came to open the door and was happy to see the man with a bottle of milk. The man in the house told the stranger how they had prayed because they needed the milk to feed their new born child, and there was no hope of getting any milk around.
What a marvelous God we serve. All we need is just to obey and trust Him. Like the children of Israel in our Bible passage, they moved at God’s command and also rested at His command. We are to always follow God’s divine guidance and direction in every area of our life. This is the only way to attract His blessings into our life.
Prayer: Lord, I will go wherever You lead me.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
