Topic: Avoid the Traffic

Text: Proverbs 8:17-21

17I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

18Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

19My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

20I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

21That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

KEY VERSE: “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.” Proverbs 8:17

Message

Nobody likes to be in a slow-moving traffic especially when you are to meet up with an examination very urgently. Heavy traffic usually makes our journey longer than expected and thus it is better to always avoid a route that is usually congested whenever we are going out for an important engagement. In Mark 1:35 Jesus our Lord shows us by example that we need to rise early to seek the Lord. Just like early morning travellers have the road almost to themselves so also does your prayers when you do it early. So many times we think it does not matter when we say our prayer but God wants us to seek Him first and early at all times.

Our Bible passage emphasizes that fact that those that seek the Lord early will find Him. How early do you seek the Lord? It is expected that you wake up early to seek God in prayers so that He can lead you into the day. Seeking Him early in every areas of life is very important. Seek the Lord early in life so that He can lead and direct you throughout your life’s journey. Seek the Lord in your plans, seek the Lord as you make your decisions every day, seek the Lord in the choices that you make, seek the Lord before you take any action. When we seek the Lord early, we avoid mistakes and delays to our prayers. There is no better way to start your day than seeking the Lord.

PRAYER: Dear Father, please help me to seek You early so that I can find You.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
