DCLM Sincere Milk 28 May 2025 — Be Content!

DCLM Sincere Milk  28 May 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiBe Content!

Topic: Be Content!

Text: Hebrews 13:4:1-6

1Let brotherly love continue.

2Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

3Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

4Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

5Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Key Verse: “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5

Message

There are children who are not always content or satisfied with what they have. Some children want to have other children’s toys, story books, dresses, pairs of shoes, or even another child’s parents or their houses. This exposes them to many temptations. It makes them to covet or desire what others have and causes them to fall into temptations to lie, cheat and steal. The Bible teaches us that we please God and are grateful to Him when we are satisfied with what we have.

Such a godly attitude sets us free from the bondage of covetousness or greed. It delivers us from the temptation of trying to have what belongs to others in a sinful manner. It makes the presence and provision of God sufficient for us.

What you have is what God has given to you at the moment. When the time comes, He will surely provide what you need more. You are therefore advised to have a conduct free from greediness and be satisfied with what you have because through this, God will be with you and not forsake you. What you have now is sufficient for you. Be content!

Prayer for today: Lord, thank You for what You have provided for me. I know You will always meet my needs through Christ.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
