DCLM Sincere Milk  28 May 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiBe Warned!

Topic: Be Warned!

Text: Psalm 19:9-13

9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

12Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Key Verse: “Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” Psalm 19:11

Message

In March 2019, tornado killed 23 people in Alabama, USA despite the fact that warnings were issued for those storms well before they happened. It was said that meteorologist – people who foresee bad weather were talking about the coming of the storms a whole day before it happened. So why was the loss so high? It is because people choose to neglect warnings of any form.

The Word of God serves many purposes. It is mainly a tool for warning. There is a grave danger ahead of all mankind. Everything we love in this world, will soon be on fire. (2 Peter 3:10) It is the nature of God to always warn people before He brings His punishment on them. The ministers of God have been warning people using the Word of God, but they are not listening. You should be warned. The punishment of God will soon come on all the bad people. Do what is right before God always and warn other people to turn away from their ungodly ways.

Prayer for today: Lord, give me the grace to heed Your warning before it is too late.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
