DCLM Sincere Milk 22 July 2024 — Be Ye Holy

DCLM Sincere Milk  22 July 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiBe Ye Holy

Topic: Be Ye Holy

Text: Romans 12:1-3

1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Key Verse: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1

Message

God is holy and everything about Him is holy. The Bible makes us to understand that God is of a purer eye than to behold iniquity. This was the reason He could not behold the sins that Jesus was carrying on the cross on behalf of the whole world. As much as God loves us and desires to fellowship with us, we need to be holy like Him as that would bring Him closer to us. The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Godhead. He is holy, He is the Holy Spirit Who cannot dwell in a dirty vessel. You must be holy if you want to receive the Holy Spirit and remain His friend.

Is it possible to live a holy life here on Earth? Yes, it is very possible. This is why God commanded us to be holy. To be holy, you need to first be born again after which you will thirst and pray that God should sanctify and make you holy. Pray always, study your Bible, spend time with God and He will keep you holy in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, please help me to be as holy as You are.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
