Topic: Bear Much Fruit

Text: John 15:6-8

6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Key Verse: “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” – John 15:8

Message

Abiding in Christ is the secret to bearing fruit as believers. As we abide in Christ, we receive God’s help. So what does it mean to abide in Christ? It means we must be connected to Christ as a branch is connected to a vine. Also we must continue to cultivate that close connection every day. But how do we cultivate this close connection? We cultivate the connection through the word of God, through daily Bible reading and personal prayer, and through Christian fellowship.

The question is, are you a fruit bearing Christian? Are you bearing the fruit of Christian character and conduct, or are you a fruitless branch? God wants to feed you, lift you, and prune you so you can bear fruit for His glory. And you can, if you will abide in Christ through His word, through fellowship, and prayer. Will you renew your commitment to abide? Remember, abiding in Christ is the secret to bearing much fruit. You must abide in Christ to bear the fruit of the Spirit and the fruit of evangelism. Strive always to bear fruit, more fruits and much fruits in the vineyard of Christ.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
