DCLM Sincere Milk 11 March 2022 — Bear witness of the light
DCLM Sincere Milk 11 March 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Bear witness of the light
TOPIC: BEAR WITNESS OF THE LIGHT
TEXT:JOHN 1:6-12
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Key Verse: “The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe” (John 1:7).
MESSAGE
Light is good and useful to man. Can you imagine a world without physical light like the sun, electricity and others? It will be a place where no one can survive. Even plants need light to grow well and be fruitful. This shows that light is very important to everyone and everything in the world.
If light is so important in our physical world, then it is much more important in the spiritual. Though the world has physical light, yet, it is spiritually darkened. The world that is controlled by Satan is opposed to God and Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. The people of the world hate Jesus who is the Light of the world. Their works are full of evil and they love darkness rather than light.
Jesus is the Light that shines in darkness, and darkness can never overcome it. A child that is still doing bad things is in darkness; he needs to urgently seek Jesus, confess his sins and turn away from them. He must ask for forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Then the light of God will shine in his life and make him become a new creature.
Now, as a child of the Light, he must go around to be a true witness for Christ, even as John the Baptist did. Spread the light by preaching the good news to sinners around you in your school and neighbourhood.
Prayer: Help me Lord, to be a light for You everywhere I go.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
