Text: John 4:39-42
39And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
41And many more believed because of his own word;
42And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
Key Verse: “And many more believed because of his own word.” John 4:41
Message
Psalm 119:103 describes the word Of God as sweeter than honey in the mouth. Everyone that has ever tasted honey will have one good thing or another to say about it. Honey is not only sweet to our taste organ, it has other wonderful properties that help the body to grow well. It helps in the healing process of a wound. It also forms the basic ingredients in the preparation of certain medicine. This is why honey is used to describe the effect of God’s word in our lives.

The word of God is powerful as it meets the needs of every soul. The word of God with His promises are captured in the BIBLE. If you are a friend of Jesus, you must believe the word of God. The Samaritans believed Jesus not because of what the woman said but they heard Him speak directly to them. Before you can believe the word of God, you must first hear it. To hear it demands that you own a copy of the Bible. Then develop a strong desire and love for the word of God. Spend quality time to read and meditate on it. Pray on what you have read or listened to. Be determined to obey all that it commands. There are great blessings for those who will believe and obey God’s word.

Prayer for today: Lord, give me grace to believe and apply Your word to every area of my life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
