TOPIC: BELIEVE IN HIM
TEXT: JOHN 3:15-18
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Key Verse: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
MESSAGE:
There are many things our parents, friends and even pastors can do for us, but nobody can repent and be converted on behalf of another person. Anyone who wants to get to heaven must consciously believe in and accept Jesus Christ as the only Saviour and Lord.
Many children sing about Jesus and have been told stories about Him, but are yet to believe in Him or accept Him as their personal Saviour. It is good to know about Jesus, but until you believe in Him as your personal Saviour, there is no salvation.
What does this mean? It means you must acknowledge your sinful state, repent and confess your sins to God; ask Him to forgive and cleanse your heart with the blood of Jesus, turn away from all sins and ask Jesus to come and live in your heart as your Saviour and Lord.
As Saviour, He saves from all sins; and as Lord, He has all authority and power, and directs you on how to live in this world. Nobody can do this for you, it must be done by you if you do not want to spend eternity in hell.
Once you sincerely repent, He forgives you, and your name is written in the Book of Life. Jesus is waiting to receive you; close your eyes and call upon Him now.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I believe You died to save me. I accept You now as my Saviour and Lord.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
