DCLM Sincere Milk 21 October 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Alabaster Box
Topic: Beware of False Prophets
Text: Matthew 24:22-25
22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25Behold, I have told you before.
Key Verse: “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Matthew 24:24
Message
To be false is to do things completely wrong and untrue. The Bible is bringing to our knowledge that as we journey in life and approach the end of the world, many people would come up with different fake things and this include pretending to be Jesus. All over the world now, we have people that pretend to be Christians and men of God even when they are not. A lot of people have turned the Bible upside down and are preaching false doctrine. Many of them are using the power of the devil to perform signs and wonders and a lot of Christians are being deceived.

Sadly, this would only increase as we get to the end of the world. The way to escape from being a victim of false prophets and teachers is to know Jesus personally through repentance and spend time with His word and His people. Also, go out and preach the real truth of God’s word so that you can save a lot of people from falling victims of false prophets.

Prayer for today: Lord, keep me by your power and help me not to fall victim of false prophets.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
