Text: Isaiah 40:28-31
28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Key Verse: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Message
Eagles are some of the largest birds found in many countries. They are known as birds of prey in the family of Accipitridae: There are approximately 60 different species. They have strong muscular legs, powerful talons and large hooked beaks that enable them to rip the flesh from their prey. A baby eagle is called an eaglet. Sight is the strongest of all eagle senses. The eyes are large, can take up almost 50% of the head and can weigh the same as a human eye. An eagle’s vision is 4-5 times better than that of a human.

The Bible speaks of the eagle as a powerful and majestic creature, symbolizing strength, speed, and keen vision. Eagles are often used as a figure of speech for God’s faithfulness, protection, and deliverance. Our Bible passage emphasizes the idea that those who put their trust in God will find renewed strength and endurance, just like the soaring eagle. Psalm 103:5 mentions how God “satisfies our desires with good things so that our youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Here, the Bible portrays God as the Great Provider who refreshes and renews His people, likening it to the way an eagle’s strength and vitality are restored. The Bible uses eagles as a powerful symbol to illustrate God’s faithfulness, strength, and ability to renew and restore His people. Trust in the Lord and you will soar higher than the eagles.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, I wait upon Thee, fill me with strength to soar like the eagle.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
