Topic: Blessed For Thy Sake
Text: Genesis 30:27-30
27And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.
28And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it.
29And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me.
30For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?
Key Verse: “…tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.” Genesis 30:27b
Message
As you read through our Bible passage, one lesson should have come out very clear: that you can be a source of blessing to other people wherever you go. Laban seemed to have pleaded with Jacob saying: “Don’t go away, for from day to day since you came, from what I see and observe, from the works of your hands, I agree that you are a special person, a man blessed by God and that blessing has brought prosperity to my family.” What a testimony about a person. Our prayer and desire should be that our daily activities should increase others and never diminish them. It should make them to desire our presence and never want to send us away.

Prayer for today: Lord, make me a blessing to all around me that Your name may be praised.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
