Topic: Bread From Heaven
Text: John 6:30-35
30They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
31Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
34Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
36But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
Key Verse: “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” John 6:35
Message
“Guide me, O thou great Jehovah!
Pilgrim thro’ this barren land;
I am weak, but thou art mighty,
Hold me with thy pow’ful hand;
Bread of heaven! (2ce)
Feed me now and ever more (2ce)”
The lyrics of this gospel hymn is a prayer that everyone ought to take to heart. Jesus is the only Bread from heaven. He is the only begotten Son of God Who came from heaven to die for our sins and feed us with the word of God. When Jesus came to earth He said “I am the bread of life. He that cometh to me shall never hunger” (John 6:35).

What Jesus was saying is that we can only have eternal life by letting Him live in us and become a part of us like the bread we eat. When Jesus comes to live in us, He fills the emptiness inside us. And when we are filled with His goodness, we become great influence and ambassadors of good things in our community. Then when He comes, we shall be qualified to go with Him.

Prayer for today: Living Bread from heaven, feed me till I become like You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
