TOPIC: CLEANSING BEFORE SERVICE

TEXT: ISAIAH 6:3-8

3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

6Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Key Verse: “And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged” (Isaiah 6:7).

MESSAGE:
Nobody likes dirty things. Normally, you take your bath, brush your teeth and clean yourself before going out each day. You do these to make yourself presentable and acceptable to people you meet and interact with. We also wash our cups, plates, spoons, etc., before use. All these are normal hygiene for healthy living.

God is holy and does not like or associate with unclean people and things. Sin makes someone dirty and unworthy before the Almighty God. There is need for total washing and cleansing in the blood of Jesus before anyone can offer acceptable service to God.

Many children want to work for God, but not everybody is qualified to work in the house of God. Isaiah was already doing the work of God, but when he saw the vision of God’s glory and looked at his own life, he saw that he was not qualified. He repented and got cleansed before asking God to send him.

This world is full of corruption and defilements. To serve God, you must first be cleansed from sinful habits and the corruption of this present evil world. This you must do by repenting and asking for forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Then you will be fit to serve the Lord.

Prayer: Oh Lord, make me clean and holy so that I can render acceptable service unto You.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
