DCLM Sincere Milk 5 October 2024 — Cleave And Live
DCLM Sincere Milk 5 October 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Cleave And Live
Topic: Cleave And Live
Text: Deuteronomy 4:1-5
1Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
3Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
4But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.
5Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
Key Verse: “But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.” Deuteronomy 4:4
Message
A young man, who nicknamed himself ‘Pharaoh’, started committing crimes at a very tender age. His mother who was a widow pleaded with tears many times with her only child to stop his bad behaviour, but he refused. Many people tried to make ‘Pharaoh’ change his ways, but he did not listen to anyone. ‘Pharaoh’ was arrested and released by the Police many times. He was feared by everybody. One day, as he was trying to escape from the place he caused a fight, he was shot and he lost his life untimely.

There are actions that lead to life. There are also actions that lead to death. This is true to both life here on earth and life with Jesus in Heaven. God made a difference between the children of Israel. They that disobeyed the Word of God, and worshipped idols, died, but they that obeyed and served the Living God, lived. Today wherever you go and whatever you do, choose to cleave to the Lord by obeying His Word and serving Him in truth and in righteousness and He will keep you alive.

Prayer for today: Lord, please, help me to love and serve You wherever I go.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
