DCLM Sincere Milk 25 October 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Clothe the naked
TOPIC: CLOTHE THE NAKED
TEXT: MATTHEW 25:36-40
36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Key Verse: “Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me” (MATTHEW 25:36).
MESSAGE:
Kiuna was born into a very poor family. To eat a good meal was very difficult. The only dress she had apart from her school uniform was a worn-out skirt and blouse. She wore this when paying a visit to her grandmother and during ceremonies. She found it shameful to attend Sunday School.
Kiuna later testified that the happiest day of her life was the day her Sunday School teacher brought three dresses and two pants to her. She said, “Those were the first pants I have worn in my life.”

One of the basic needs of man is clothing. This is because clothing covers our nakedness and shame. It protects our bodies from bad weather and makes us presentable and beautiful. Can you imagine how you will feel if you had no clothes to wear?
Jesus, our Lord, is the kindest person that ever lived on earth. He teaches us to be kind to others. Some are naked, some are sick, some are in the prison of sin and trouble. Remember, Christianity has so much to do with love and care.
Christ, our Saviour, commands us to care for others as you would have done to Him if He was physically present with us. Won’t you be happy if someone showed you kindness? Then, do the same to others, particularly by preaching the love of Jesus to them.
Note: Check your box or wardrobe, select clothes you have outgrown, and with the permission of your parents, go and give to children in your neighbourhood who do not have good clothes to wear.
Prayer: Lord, give me a caring and loving heart towards all those in need around me.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
