DCLM Daily Manna 22 March 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Come Thou With Us
TOPIC: Come Thou With Us (DCLM Daily Manna 22 March 2026)
KEY VERSE: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him – John 14:21
TEXT: Numbers 10:29-32 (KJV)
29And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.
30And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.
31And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.
32And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the LORD shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.
33And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
In statistical hypothesis testing, Type I errors can be thought of as errors of commission, in which the status quo is erroneously rejected in favour of new, misleading information. Type II errors can bethought of as errors of omission, in which a misleading status quo is allowed to remain due to failure in identifying it as such.
Moses’ father-in-law can be said to have committed a type 1 error, in rejecting the invitation of Moses at this time, to “come thou with us, and we will do thee good”. He had a reason to reject the offer: his attachment to his own kindred. “I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land and to my kindred”, he said. There is no iota of doubt in the heart of Moses’ father-in-law that God had uniquely favoured Israel. And Moses’ invitation to Hobab, was a favour backed with credibility. The man had heard of God’s work among the children of Israel, yet he rejected the offer. Although he later accepted it and came to Israel’s camp (Exodus 18:1-5).
It is a wise decision to heed the call of the Lord Jesus Christ for all sinners to join the throng of God’s people in the quest for the city of God. There is a heavenly Canaan, the uppermost desire of every saint. Those who have heaven’s revelation in their hearts must endeavour to give a clarion call to everyone under the circle of their influence to come and taste the unimaginable goodness of the Lord.
The wise will heed the solicitation of Christ to come and partake of the riches of grace which are freely available to all and sundry. He who has tasted the goodness of the Lord will reach out to his neighbours to come and join the saints to enjoy the unsearchable riches we have in Jesus Christ.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A Christian is at his best when he acts as the conduit of God’s grace.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
