Text: Revelation 4:1-3
1After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
3And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

Message
The university and tertiary institutions are referred to as higher educational institutions. This means that the system and level of learning in these institutions are higher, greater, supreme and of better quality than that of secondary and primary education.
No student will like to remain at the level of primary and secondary education for ever. Everyone strives to move higher so as to have a secured future. This illustration fits only our physical development. To have a balanced growth, we are expected to desire and strive to go higher in our spiritual development. First, is the basic experience of salvation. This is a must for everyone because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Therefore, Jesus Christ has to come and die to make provision for our salvation. All a sinner needs do is to humbly acknowledge his sinful state, repent and accept Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and Lord.

After taking this step, the saved child needs to go higher to pray for the sanctification of his/her heart. This is a higher level than salvation. In the book of Revelation, a disciple called John the beloved heard the voice of God asking him to come up hither which means higher. He was at a particular level, but God wanted to show him a special revelation. John the beloved obeyed the voice of God, went up and saw a great revelation of heaven and the throne of God. He was to go up higher because he was found holy. To see God and reign with Christ, you must live a holy life all the days of your life.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, I surrender my life to You, use me for Your own glory.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
