10Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.

11Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

Key Verse: “Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.” Psalm 32:10

Message

In many cities, fences are raised around residential and official premises for protection. We also learnt from history that strong impenetrable walls were always built around great cities in the ancient times. These fences, around these cities were to secure and protect them from the enemies. It was also to beautify the cities. The ancient wall of Jericho was the greatest defense that city had.

Yet, no matter how high or thick these walls were, they were not always strong enough to stop the so-called enemies from conquering them; but the mercy of the Lord is a sure defense for the children of God. The Bible tells us that we are not encompassed by walls made by men’s hands, but by the unfailing mercies of the Almighty God. The mercy of the Lord forms a wall of defense around those who trust in the Lord.

Note that this favour of the Lord is only for those that trust in Him.
Have you believed in Jesus and accepted Him as your Saviour and friend? Then the mercy of the Lord compasses or surrounds you and keeps you from all evils. There is no reason, therefore, to be afraid.

Prayer for today: Lord, let your mercy surround me always in these troublous times.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
