TOPIC: COMPLAIN LESS AND PRAISE GOD MORE
TEXT: PSALM 13:1-6
2How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
5But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
Key Verse: “I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me” (Psalm 13:6).
MESSAGE:
Our Bible passage shows that David was surrounded with challenges, yet he still praised God. He remembered God’s past goodness and mercies in his life and saw a reason to praise God. He sang songs of praise even when he had not received answers to his prayers. What a good example for all Christians to follow!
The world is full of troubles and challenges. Do you know who is causing trouble in this world? His name is Satan, the greatest enemy of boys and girls. He is fighting against everyone, particularly Christians. His reason for fighting is that he has missed heaven and he does not want anybody to get there. He wants believers to stop loving Jesus.
It is often difficult for most people to find a reason to praise God in difficult situations. Rather, they complain and blame God for abandoning them. Think about your salvation and other numerous blessings of God in your life and sing praises unto Him. Do not complain, do not murmur, but praise God all the time.
Prayer: Lord, help me not to complain but turn every situation in my life to praises.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
