DCLM Daily Manna 22 November 2025 — Consequences Of Forgetting God

DCLM Daily Manna 22 November 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Consequences Of Forgetting God

TOPIC: Consequences Of Forgetting God (DCLM Daily Manna 22 November 2025)

KEY VERSE: “And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire” (Ezekiel 23:25).

TEXT: Ezekiel 23:22-35 (KJV)

22 Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;

23 The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.

24 And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.

25 And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.

26 They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels.

27 Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.

28 For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:

29 And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.

30 I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.

31 Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.

32 Thus saith the Lord God; Thou shalt drink of thy sister’s cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.

33 Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.

34 Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.

35 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

The Pulpit bible commentary writes that ,’Judah walked in the way of her sister; therefore, she must drink from her sister’s cup. Companions in guilt will be companions in doom. If higher religious privileges do not keep us from following the sinful practices of worldly men, most certainly, they will not protect us from sharing their fate. He who treads the sinner’s flowery path will drink the sinner’s bitter cup.’

Israel’s trajectory in perpetual sinning and ungodly alliances made her abhorrent to God. The nations with which she played the harlot were stirred up against her as instruments of chastisement. The focus of Ezekiel in today’s passage is the evil influence of Samaria over Judah. Consequently, Judah followed her sister, Israel, who wielded unholy influence over her. Instead of using God’s law as a yardstick, she followed the pernicious way of her sister. Indeed, evil communication corrupted her manner. Judah’s sins were inexcusable and intolerable. Since she partook in Israel’s sin, she also shared in her punishment. Her sin was presumptuous, deliberate, and unjustified. She could not feign ignorance or blame her perversion on Israel.

Judah did not turn from wickedness, idolatry, and profanity; therefore, she was equally punished. She refused and wilfully rejected God’s counsel, abandoned that which is good, followed the bad example of Israel, and was pursued by her enemies.

Many blame their career in sin and its consequences on people around them. The blame game that started in the Garden of Eden resonates in many circles today. They blame their immoral lifestyle, alcoholism, drug addiction, murderous tendencies, wastefulness, and incorrigibility on others rather than themselves. While tempters and temptresses will be judged, those who yield to temptations will not be spared. The grace of God that brings salvation and sets free from sin is available for all. As a free moral agent, you will account for all your actions, words and deeds irrespective of who may have lured or tempted you. But you can reconcile with God today through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Judgment is at the end of a sinful career.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
