DCLM Sincere Milk 27 May 2024 — Correction Through Love
DCLM Sincere Milk 27 May 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Correction Through Love
Topic: Correction Through Love
Text: Galatians 6:1-6
1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5For every man shall bear his own burden.
6Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
Key Verse: “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” Galatians 6:1
Message
Joses and John are twin brothers. One day, they had an argument on who should first be served. While this was going on, their mom walked into the kitchen and tried to correct them in love. Lovingly, she explained to them the reasons they should consider others first. They were able to settle their argument in a loving way.

Correction through love is a way of settling differences in an amicable way. It is a means of promoting peace, unity and fellowship among friends, family members and fellow believers. As friends of Jesus, we have a duty to correct one another in love, we are to be like our Lord Jesus Christ who correct people in love. Christ never condemned a sinner but always seeking to save him. When you correct in love you will get a better response and God will be happy with you. Go and meet the people you have done wrong to, make peace with them. Also make it a point of duty to always pray for your brothers, sisters and friends.

Prayer for today: The grace to correct in love and not to condemn a sinner, give it unto me Lord.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
