Topic: Crown For The Faithful
Text: 1 Peter 5:2-4
2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
Key Verse: “And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.” 1 Peter 5:4
Message
A crown is a head covering, often made of precious metal set with jewels and worn as a symbol of sovereignty. The crown is a symbol of divine honour, glory, authority and victory. This crown can also symbolize the crown that Jesus Christ bestows on all who believe in Him.

God has preserved special crowns for each believer in heaven. It is a trophy that will never fade or lose its meaning. And you will wear it throughout eternity! Friends of Jesus who would live holy, preach the gospel and endure till the end will wear the golden crowns in heaven.
Apostle Paul was so sure that a crown of righteousness awaits him in heaven. This awareness made him to fully dedicate his life to the preaching of the gospel. If you do not want to go empty handed, you must get involved with the work of evangelism. Crowns with stars are waiting for all faithful believers. Be counted among them.

Prayer for today: Lord, give me power to do Your will so as to be qualified to wear the crown You have prepared for me.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
