Message
Friend, I have one simple message for you today: Don’t write yourself off, but defeat depression. In our memory verse today, David told his soul to hope in God. Depression is the feeling of sadness, failure and hopelessness. Any time you feel depressed, tell yourself, “No, I am not going to end up like this; I too will live to testify to the goodness of the Lord.” No matter what you are going through there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Do not allow challenges to put your back on the ground. Nelson Mandela said, “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
The Psalmist says, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord…” (Psalm 121:1-2). Look unto Jesus; don’t give up, it’s not over. Depression is the deception of the devil. Discuss your fears with your spiritual leader, then let Jesus come into your life and situation (Matthew 11:28-29). Believe God’s Word and exercise your faith in it.
Quote: Don’t give up
Challenge: Your story will not end in sorry; it will end in glory.
Prayer for today: Arise O Lord, and let your glory be seen upon me.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
