Text: Psalms 119:9-16
9BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
13With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
15I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
16I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Message
The word of God is as powerful as God Himself. He demonstrates His power through the spoken words. “Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?” (Ecclesiastes 8:4). The Bible points to the word as the divine cleansing agent for our body, soul and spirit. Jesus our Lord and Saviour also confirmed this fact when He ministered to His disciples. “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.” (John 15:3) As young boys and girls, you need God’s cleansing agent – the Word of God. Are your attitude and actions pleasing to God? Are your behaviour and conduct acceptable to Him? Are your thoughts and speech right before Him? Is your heart right in the sight of God? You cannot cleanse yourself from any uncleanness neither can anyone do it for you. It is only God that can do it.
Therefore, submit yourself to the word of God to cleanse you from dirty things. With this powerful cleansing agent from the Lord, you will be able to take heed to His word, meditate on, reverence His word and serve Him faithfully and acceptably.

Prayer for today: Lord, cleanse me from every sin and help me to live a holy life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
