Topic: Do More For God
Text: Colossians 3:20-24
20Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
23And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Key Verse: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” – Colossians 3:23
Message
Service to God is one of the best services you can render while on this earth. God is interested in your service and worship. The Lord told the children of Israel to serve Him and He would bless their bread and water and take sickness away from them. The same condition is still relevant today. If you do more for God and serve Him faithfully with all your heart, He will bless you abundantly.

There are various services you can render to God both in the church and outside the church. These include – cleaning the house of God, visiting other friends of Jesus, praying for the sick, singing in the choir, partaking in activities in the church and preaching the gospel to neighbours and friends about Jesus. All these services must be done with joy and happiness knowing that you shall receive a reward from God.
Service to God must not be done with eye service or with pretence for the pastor or leader to see you and commend you to others. It should be done with a genuine heart. If you are commended by your pastor you know the glory should be unto God. Let your service glorify God and you shall be abundantly blessed

Prayer for today: Lord, let my service glorify You now and always.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
