TOPIC: Do You Have A Dream

Text: Genesis 37:1-7

1And Jacob dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan.

2These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.

3Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.

4And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

5And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.

6And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:

7For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

Key Verse: And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more (Genesis 37:5).

Message

Dream refers to a series of images, aspirations, thoughts, desires, or emotions that pass through the mind. Jessica Cox, 25, was a girl born without arms. She got the Sport Pilot certificate and became the first pilot licensed to fly using only her feet. With one foot manning the controls and the other delicately guiding the steering column. Her certificate qualifies her to fly a light-sport aircraft to altitudes of 10,000 feet. For her, it was a dream come true.

Joseph had a dream. Satan fought him with a fiery temptation to truncate it. God sustained him, and he overcame all obstacles and his dream came true – from a prisoner to a prime minister! Your dream is God’s way of letting you realize His master plan for your life. Do you have a dream? As you pursue your dream, life becomes more exciting and meaningful.

There will be satisfaction, happiness, and fulfillment in life. Believe in yourself and your dream. Never give up. Keep your dream alive. All things are possible for those who believe. Make your dream in life come true.

Quote: Believe in yourself and your dream

Challenge: The gap between dream and success is action. Bridge it!

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
