DCLM Sincere Milk 19 November 2024 — Doing The Will of God
DCLM Sincere Milk 19 November 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Doing The Will of God
Topic: Doing The Will of God
Text: Matthew 21:28-31
28But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
30And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
31Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
Key Verse: “Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.” Matthew 21:31
Message
Jesus gave a parable of the two sons whose father sent to work in his vineyard. The first one outrightly turned down the assignment and said he would not go. However, he later changed his mind and went. The second son on the other hand, promised to obey but did not eventually go. Now, which of the two choices is better?

The answer the listeners gave was the first one. Jesus accepted that answer to show the purpose of His coming into the world. He came to call sinners who would repent and accept His offer of love. The first son realized this fact, quickly repented and did the will of his father. The will of God for you is to repent, turn from your sins and accept Jesus as your personal Saviour and Lord. If you are a church goer alone, Jesus is calling you to be truly saved. As the message comes to you now, there is but one thing to do; just obey and surrender your life to Him.

Prayer for today: Lord, I surrender my life unto You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
