DCLM Higher Everyday 6 April 2026 — Faulty Fault-Finders
DCLM Sincere Milk 6 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Faulty Fault-Finders
Topic: Faulty Fault-Finders
Bible Reading: Matthew 7:1-5 (KJV)
1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
Dr. Greg Kushnick once said, “The fault-finding radar compels a person to constantly point out what is wrong with other people. It’s the ultimate recipe for misery.” According to this submission, fault-finders are under a compulsive spell to always find fault in people at all costs. They behave like Satan, the accuser of the brethren. There are youths who come to the church only to find fault with everything going on in the local assembly. They find fault with sound doctrines and criticize ordained men of God. They create disharmony in the body of Christ because they are always opposing the leaders in the church.

Beloved, the Lord is calling you out of fault-finders because they are opposers of unity in the church. However, if you discover anything that is not clear to you in the church, it is good and advisable to see the pastor of that assembly to seek clarification or offer advice in love and sincerity of purpose. Are you a fault-finder? Repent and ask God to give you grace to turn a new leaf.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, help me to overcome the spirit of fault-finding.
CHALLENGE
Fault-finding breeds disharmony in the church.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
