Topic: Fear Not
Text: Isaiah 43:1-5
1But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
3For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
5Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
Key Verse: “But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” Isaiah 43:1
Message
Sandra was alone in the room when the electricity was put out. Immediately the room turned dark and she became afraid. She then heard a voice saying “Fear not.” Immediately her fear was gone. Fear comes from the devil. It is defined as False Evidence That Appears Real. Fear has the power to torment a child spiritually and physically. For example, if you had a bad dream that looked so real; when you wake up, fear will overshadow you. Physically, if you see something that is threatening, you will become fearful.

There must be a reason why the Bible tells us (in various ways and in various places) to “fear not” hundreds of times. The reason is because fear is a torment. God told us to be filled with hope and trust, not fear. He has given us hope through the promise of His word that He will uphold us by His strength today. He has also promised those who have faith in Jesus Christ, salvation and eternal life with Him in heaven. Therefore, fear not.

Prayer for today: Lord, take away fear from my life, help me to trust You at all times.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
