Topic: Foolish Galatians
Text: Galatians 3:1-4
KEY VERSE: “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, …” Galatians 3:1a
Message
Grange was a well-beloved child of his parents. They loved him so much and would always give him all that he needed. His mother however warned him not to take or collect food from strangers. One day, Grange was invited to a school sport competition. He went and he enjoyed every aspect of the event. However, when someone came round to share snacks, Grange forgot his mother’s warning and counsel, he collected the snack and ate it.
Not long after, the few children including Grange who ate the snacks complained of stomach upset. The organizers had to make arrangement to take them to the medical centre for quick attention. It was the immediate response of the medical personnel that saved the children from death. When Grange’s mother arrived, she expressed sadness over her son’s foolishness in forgetting her counsels.

The story illustrates what happened to the Christians in Galatia. They received the true gospel from Apostle Paul and surrendered their hearts to Christ. In the middle of the journey, some false prophets came to teach them wrong things. Instead of standing firm on the word of truth, they obeyed the false teachers. Apostle Paul was not happy with their conduct. They acted in a foolish way. It is only a fool that will turn from the way of truth and righteousness to Satan’s way of sinfulness. Do not be a fool. Stand and uphold the truth you have been taught no matter where you are. Remember, God is everywhere and He sees all that we do
PRAYER: I pray for grace to be wise and not foolish.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
