Text: Genesis 45:6-8
6For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
8So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
Key Verse: “And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.” Genesis 45:7
Message
It was the end of the year and the time to pay the yearly house rent. Mrs. Emeri had wondered how she would be able to raise the money to foot her bill. Meanwhile, the children church section of her church had given out the yearly retreat recitations. She passionately encouraged one of the children to learn Psalm 119 recitation. Jerim deprived himself of play and sleep and was the only one in his church to recite all the verses. The members of the church were so delighted and they gave generously to little Jerim. From the gifts, the mother was able to pay the rent and meet other needs. God used Joseph to provide for his family, Moses to deliver Israel from Egypt, Daniel to pray for the return of Israel from captivity, Virgin Mary to bring the Saviour to the world, Paul the apostle to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles and our teachers and pastors to prepare us for heaven.

You can be a blessing to your family, the church and your country. But it takes sacrifice. Jerim spent time and denies himself of play to learn and prepare for the competition, and he became a source of blessing to his family. You can only excel and be a blessing to others through determination and sacrifice. God wants to pass through you to meet the needs of others. First, give your life to Jesus, then your time and talent to serve in God’s kingdom.

Prayer for today: Lord, make me a channel of blessing today.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
