65TETH. Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.
66Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
KEY VERSE: “I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts” (Psalm 119:63).
MESSAGE
Daniel had three friends. One day, they were captured and taken to a strange land when they were still young. No one in the land they were taken to loved and served the living God, not even the king. Daniel and his friends were asked to eat food sacrificed to idols and worship the strange gods of the land, but they refused. Daniel and his friends were children who were prayerful and always doing those things that glorified the Lord. Daniel chose God-fearing companions and they were great encouragement to one another. Godly companions will leave godly examples for you to follow.

The Bible dictionary defines a companion as one who keeps company with another; one with whom a person frequently associates and converses. It differs from an ordinary friend. The word does not necessarily imply friendship, but a companion is often or generally a close friend. God created us with a desire to make friends with others. But it is very dangerous to have friends who do not fear God. The Psalmist in our Bible passage and Daniel in our story, give us very good examples.
Evil friends will corrupt your good behaviour and lead you into trouble. Make up your mind today to keep godly friends and separate from bad ones.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to befriend people who will encourage me to love and serve You always.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
