KEY VERSE: He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber – Psalm 121:3
TEXT: Psalm 121:1-8 (KJV)
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
A little boy enlisted into the service of God in his local church. This required that daily, he must attend the early morning service. He would, however, have to travel for a considerable distance in the dark before getting to the church. Although fearful of walking in the dark, he was determined to fulfil his obligation. He needed help to get to the church every morning. His father volunteered to help him. And for years, his father would wake him up very early in the morning, get him prepared and walk him to the church, before returning home to prepare for his own duties.

God fulfils this role for every believer. He knows our fears, He sees the danger that lies on the path of every pilgrim on his or her way to heaven. He has promised not to leave or forsake you. Therefore, like the psalmist, you must look up to Him for help, recognising that He, as the maker of heaven and earth, has the power to help you. He will keep you from every danger as He neither sleeps nor slumbers. He shields you from the sun of affliction by day, and the moon of fear by night. He preserves His children from all evil, secures their soul from the onslaught of the enemy. He preserves them whatever their station in life, and wherever they may be. He is such a faithful Father.
On display here is the psalmist’s understanding of the all-pervasive influence of God on mankind. He carefully details what it takes to fully appropriate the full ramifications of God’s blessings: fully set your gaze on His exalted hills, from whence all helps flow.

As we journey through the Year, we must rest our confidence and hope in the almighty God who alone has the power to protect us day or night. He is most trustworthy because by His power, He created all things. When the all-powerful God watches over you, none can snatch you from His hands. Trust in the Lord because He loves you deeply, knows the path you are taking, and is able to keep you safe until you get to heaven.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
