DCLM Sincere Milk 24 April 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiGod’s Handiwork

Topic: God’s Handiwork

Text: Ephesians 2:8-10

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Key Verse: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Message

A potter is a professional who moulds pots. The pots are made in different shapes and moulds. The pot has no say in its design. It is the potter that decides what to make out of the clay. In the process of moulding, the potter can change the original design as it suits him. That is the type of relationship humans have with God our Creator. God is our Marker and Designer. He can do with us as it pleases Him. As believers in Christ, we are God’s workmanship; we reflect His works of creation and redemption.

Our Bible passage is an encouragement to believers to build up their faith in God. The main focus in the passage is to remind us that we are God’s artwork, masterpieces and workmanship and should be happy with the way we were created. We should appreciate God Who made us the way we are. So, if one is tall or short, fat or slim, black or white, he/she is the handiwork of God. We are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Remember, Jeremiah complained of being a child, but what was God’s reply? “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee;” (Jeremiah 1:5a) Also, Moses complained of not being eloquent in speech, but God still used him to do great things. God knows us and He has great plans for all His creatures.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, use me for Your glory and praise.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
