DCLM Daily Manna 25 January 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God’s Plan Of Redemption
TOPIC: God’s Plan Of Redemption (DCLM Daily Manna 25 January 2025)
KEY VERSE: “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7).
TEXT: Ephesians 1:1-14 (KJV)
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
Stories of heroism sometimes engender a dilemma as to whether to cheer or cry or perhaps do both together. Such is the story of a mother caught in a wildfire with her infant child. The inferno came quick and fast, driven by wild gusts of wind. The raging fire had closed off all escape routes; she was trapped. The brave mother would save her baby at any cost, so she desperately shifted some earth with her bare hands, creating a little hole in the ground into which she deposited the child. Then she laid on the little hole, making herself a human shield. The firefighters found her badly burnt body and, under it, a now-motherless child who his hero had saved. Such was the price of our redemption paid by Christ.
Apostle Paul, in today’s text, while blessing God for adopting us (the Gentiles) as children emphasises the role of Jesus Christ by whose sacrificial death both the Jews and the Gentiles find redemption. He attributed our spiritual privileges of salvation and receiving the Holy Ghost to God’s abundant wisdom and goodness.

Adam’s fall and disobedience in the Garden of Eden turned all of humanity into slaves of Satan. God’s answer to the age-old sin problem was a redemption plan hinged on paying a heavy ransom. He sent His only begotten Son to pay that price by shedding His precious blood. Jesus left His glory and majesty in heaven for earthly pain and shame and bore our guilt and condemnation on the cross, thereby satisfying the righteous judgment of God. His substitutionary death secured our pardon and sealed our position of sonship in the family of God.

When, on the cross, Jesus cried, “It is finished!”, God’s plan for the ages was completed. All who believe can now enjoy the full provisions of grace with all the attendant redemptive rights. The price has been paid in full. The same plan that routed Satan rescued the sons of Adam from eternal hell. It is finished; the work of salvation is done. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, including you. If you have not been saved, why not now? Pray as you sincerely repent of your sins and place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
All the ransomed can rest in the provisions of Calvary.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
