Text: Psalm 119:17-24
17GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
18Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
19I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
20My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.
21Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.
22Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies.
23Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
24Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.

Message
A map is a representation of the earth’s surface on paper showing places like rivers, mountains or countries. There are different types of maps. Understand very clearly that earthly maps cannot direct or lead anyone to heaven. Hence, it is only God’s map that can lead you to heaven safely. This map of God is called the word of God. This is the reason the psalmist in our Bible passage prayed that God should open his eyes to see wondrous things in His word because he is a stranger. This means he wants to see godly principles, precepts and path that leads to heaven where God dwells. You must understand the fact that we are strangers here on earth. Nobody, pilot or scientist knows the route to where God dwells. It is the word of God that gives us direction and light to see the right way to heaven.
To successfully follow this road map, you must first repent and accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Then make the Bible your best companion. Read it every day. Meditate on what you read, act on the instructions by putting into practice all that it commands. Then share the word with others.

Prayer for today: O Lord, keep me on the narrow way to heaven through the power of Your word.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
