DCLM Sincere Milk 4 March 2024 — God’s Sweet Aroma
DCLM Sincere Milk 4 March 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God’s Sweet Aroma
Topic: God’s Sweet Aroma
Text: 2 Corinthians 2:14-17
14Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
15For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
16To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
17For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
Key Verse: ““For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:” 2 Corinthians 2:15
Message
Aroma is a distinct and pleasant odour. Aroma has a sweet and fragrant scent that pleases the nose. Also, an aroma smells but never stinks.
Christians are referred to in our Bible passage as the sweet fragrance of Christ. A believer is a burnt offering, a sweet aroma to the Lord. The fragrance of God’s grace is all around us. When you surrender your life to Jesus, you no longer have the bad odour of sin, but rather a sweet aroma of grace. God’s children, saved by grace, are to Him like fragrant incense.

Your new life in Christ represents a sweet aroma of life. You are fresh and pleasant, living each day as a blessing to those around you. As you begin another day, carry the sweet aroma of God with you. Allow others to experience the sweetness of Jesus Christ through you. If you are not yet friend of Jesus, this is the time to make right step, repent and confess your sins to God. Ask for forgiveness and cleansing of your heart with the blood of Jesus. Now, go out to sweeten the lives of others.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, please help me live a life that pleases You today and every day of my Life
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
