DCLM Sincere Milk 30 July 2024 — Greater Than All My Fears

DCLM Sincere Milk  30 July 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiGreater Than All My Fears

Topic: Greater Than All My Fears

Text: Psalm 91:3-10

3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Key Verse: “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;” Psalm 91:5

Message

Insecurity of life and properties has become the order of the day in which we live. Daily we hear news of war, kidnapping, terrorism, killings and all sorts of evil all around us. No part of the world is spared of these evils. Families live in fear due to these happenings.

Our Bible passage assures us of God’s protection and preservation in the midst of all these bad news. For some, they may loose faith and think it is impossible to be unhurt in the midst of these. Don’t loose faith because underneath you are God’s everlasting arms. He took the children of Israel through the Red Sea and even the wilderness. What about the three Hebrew children, He brought them out unhurt from Nebuchadnezzar’s fiery furnace. Our God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hold on to His promises and His sure protection will be upon you and your family.

Prayer for today: Dear Lord, I believe You are always near me, please protect me and my family from the evils of these days.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
