DCLM Sincere Milk 4 August 2024 — Greater Than My Limitations

DCLM Sincere Milk  4 August 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiGreater Than My Limitations

Topic: Greater Than My Limitations

Text: Exodus 4:10-12

10And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

11And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?

12Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

Key Verse: “Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.” Exodus 4:12

Message

Limitations are boundaries which should not be crossed. Limitation builds restrictions, puts a cap or creates barriers that hinders excellence. Tim was born with a genetic defect which makes him fall sick often. Many times he was absent from school which made him repeat many classes. Tim was also restricted from some kinds of foods, exercises and activities. This condition made Tim feel dejected and hopeless about the future.

One day while on his bed, he thought the end had come because the pain of the sickness was much. Then he prayed to God for help. That ended the feeling of hopelessness as he heard the word of God say “fear not, thou worm Jacob for I will help thee.” Today Tim is a successful family man.

Looking at your life, are there some traits that seem to be limiting you? Moses was astammerer yet he became Israel’s leader. God has no limitations, so whatever is limiting you today can be taken care of by God. Turn to Him and whisper a heartfelt prayer like Tim did.

Prayer for today: Loving Lord, please take me off every limitation against my God-given destiny.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
