Text: Matthew 8:14-17
14And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.
15And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
16When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
17That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Key Verse: “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick” (Matthew 8:16).
Message
One of the consequences of the fall of man was the entrance of evil into the world. That included suffering, afflictions, sicknesses, diseases, disabilities and death. Mankind had been plagued by all kinds of physical, mental, and psychological infirmities since then. All through the ages, man had sought various means to mitigate the impact of these afflictions. Medical science attempts to provide relief from diseases and sufferings. However, there are limitations to the effectiveness of medical science as some diseases are chronic and incurable.

Jesus Christ came to undo the works of the devil among men. His ministry involved forgiveness of sins, healing the sick, delivering the oppressed and teaching the ways of the kingdom. In His days on earth, He healed all manner of sicknesses including those deemed incurable. He continues to perform such miracles today through the ministry of the saints and ministers of the gospel. Many who had struggled with certain chronic and debilitating diseases had received their perfect healing during the gospel crusades. Healings are real because Jesus is alive. Do you believe in miracles? I do.

Prayer for today: Lord, I believe in miracles.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
