Text — Deuteronomy 28:12-14
12The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
14And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Message
Seraphina was a very brilliant girl in her class. She always came first at the end of every academic session. However, there is one important attribute of Seraphina that made her stand out among her peers. She is a committed Christian. This is the reason for her excellent performance in her academics. She had three wonderful attributes put together, Christ-like holiness, brilliance and beauty. She also had the habit of telling others about Jesus everywhere she went. Seraphina was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. She also did not yield to any form of temptation. All these make her to become an excellent child.

There is an important condition attached to God’s promise of making us the head and not the tail. That condition is obedience. It is important to obey God’s call to salvation, holy-living and commitment to true worship and service. Surrender your life to Jesus now and ask Him to build in you, the qualities that will take you to the top.

Prayer for today: Lord, save me and give me all the resources that I need to become the head.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
