Text — Habakkuk 2:1-3
1I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
3For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Key Verse: “I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved” (Habakkuk 2:1)
Message
In industries, businesses and even in medical fields, there are Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which are written documents describing specific activities necessary to complete a task. SOPs are policies, procedures and standards you need in the operations, marketing and administration of disciplines within your business for success. They serve various purposes – some of which include simplifying the process, thus eliminating indecision, ensuring maintenance of quality and industry standard; protecting the workers from errors and litigations, and providing a healthy environment for workers. When SOPs are ignored or neglected, it leads to confusion, wastages, and inefficiency.
Habakkuk was determined to wait on God until he received clear directives before he made a move. He was eager to get clear instructions from the Lord of the work. As a servant of the Lord, he was resolved to follow the standard operating procedure. You need such a resolution in your life. To make progress in life and achieve more productivity in your ministry, or academics, be determined to hear from God and follow His guidance. God speaks through His word and His Spirit. Wait on Him.
Quote: God speaks through His word
Challenge: Be determined to hear from God and follow His guidance.
Prayer for today: Lord, I will wait until I hear from you.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
