10My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
Key Verse: “My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:” Proverbs 1:8
Message
Parental warnings are given to children so that they will not make mistakes or go astray. The word of God encourages you to heed the warning of your parents because they know more than you do and also love you. They do not want you to get into trouble or come into any harm. Some children shun their parents’ warnings because of stubbornness in their hearts.
One day, Timothy, a very stubborn boy went to the store nearby to buy some toiletries for his mother. He purposely crossed the path of another boy. The boy told him to make way but he refused. Other people told him, but he still did not. Suddenly, the boy pushed him and he fell. All the things he bought scattered on the road and some were destroyed. He even got an injury from the fall. When he got back home and his mother found out what happened to him, she punished him. She reminded him that it was the stubbornness that brought both loss and harm to him. Timothy apologized to his mom and promised to turn a new leaf.

Prayer for today: Lord, please deliver me from stubbornness in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
