TOPIC: MOTHERS ARE GOD’S MARVELS
TEXT: PSALM 128:1-6
1 (A Song of degrees.) Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
2 For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
4 Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.
5 The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.
MEMORY VERSE: “Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table” (PSALM 128:3).
MESSAGE:
In 1952, when Korea was in the throes of civil war, a young pregnant woman who was due to be delivered of a child, asked for help from passersby, and no one could help her. She heard of a missionary living nearby who could render help. She then decided to go there even though it was a period of cold and snow.

On her way, the pain became unbearable, and the baby was already coming out. She took shelter under a bridge and gave birth to a baby boy on Christmas day. She took off her clothes, wrapped the baby and held him close in her arms.
The next day, the missionary was distributing Christmas packages and passing by, he heard the cry of a baby and traced him, only to discover the mother was frozen to death still holding her baby. The missionary saved the baby.
Mothers are really blessings from God. Their roles begin from conception and end at death. Their job begins early in the morning and ends late at night. Hence, you should appreciate and obey your mother.
QUOTE: Appreciate and obey your mother.
CHALLENGE: Honour your mother.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to appreciate and respect my mum.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
