DCLM Daily Manna 14 August 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Holy Defence

TOPIC: Holy Defence (DCLM Daily Manna 14 August 2024)

KEY VERSE: “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them” (Deuteronomy 33:27).

TEXT: Deuteronomy 33:25-29 (KJV)

25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

The MIM Patriot system is a surface-to-air missile (SAM) system used by the US Army and several other allied states. Patriot system has four primary operations: communications, command and control, radar surveillance and missile guidance. The four functions combine to provide a coordinated, secure and integrated system. Patriot interceptors are estimated to cost about $4m per missile.

Compared with God’s impenetrable, invincible and invisible defence system over His people, the human defence system is costly and imperfect. Moses prayed for the tribes of Israel before he died. In blessing Israel, he said the eternal God is their Refuge and underneath them are the everlasting arms. In these parting blessings, he assured Israel of God’s protection over them if they keep to His commandments and do them.

The Church today is the Israel of God and can enjoy safety in this world of evil and wickedness. God’s power to protect His own is unlimited. He promises us strength all the days of our lives and gives power to the faint. His Angels have the charge over us to keep us in all our ways. We do not need carnal weapons like talismans, occult devices and charms for personal or family defence or deliverance. In a similar vein, as believers, we do not need to curse our perceived enemies or ask God to destroy them. Our God will always fight our battles for us.

Remember also that our Lord Jesus has spoiled principalities and powers on the cross and He has handed to us the power to conquer all adversaries through His name. Our defence is sure! Our victory is confirmed! Our dominion is guaranteed! Step out today with this firm assurance and confidence.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Rejoice because our defence in God is unassailable..

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
