DCLM Sincere Milk 23 October 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Hope for new things
TOPIC: HOPE FOR NEW THINGS
TEXT: ISAIAH 43:14-19
15I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
16Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
17Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
18Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Key Verse: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (ISAIAH 43:19).
MESSAGE
The interesting fact about this world is that new things are regularly invented to replace old things. Old cars are referred to as old models as a lot of features are added to different brands of cars from time to time. This is the same for other human inventions.
God is the Creator of all things and there is no limit to what He can do. The only thing that can limit God’s move in a person’s life is sin.

When a sinner comes into a personal relationship with the Almighty God through Jesus Christ, the new life begins and a future of endless blessings follows. The new things God has promised to do covers both spiritual and physical aspects of life. The old life of sin gives way to the new life of righteousness; sorrow turns to joy; failure to success; shame to favour, and defeat to victory.
Above all, every victorious Christian will eventually live in the new earth and heaven with Jesus. What are those things that look impossible in your life? Bring it to Jesus in prayer, trusting that He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, as He has promised.
Prayer: Oh God, please do a new thing in my life so that people will know that I am serving a Great God.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
