TOPIC: I AM A CHILD
BIBLE TEXT: JEREMIAH 1:4-8
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
KEY VERSE: “Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child” (Jeremiah 1:6).
MESSAGE:
The childhood period is the most interesting part of a person’s life. It is a time that is free from worry, stress and anxiety. This period can be referred to as the “years of innocence”. This is the reason children are being guided to make the best use of their childhood years to build a solid foundation for the future. It is easy to become an expert in a skill that you learnt in your childhood period.
God expects you to love and serve Him from your childhood period, like Samuel did. He became one of the greatest judge, priest and prophet in Israel. You must not see yourself as an ordinary child who has no power to do anything worthwhile. The best time to know and serve God is now.
God has work for different age groups. There is something you can do for God, and you must start now. There are many people in our present generation who surrendered their lives to Christ at a very tender age and later did great exploits for God. Examples are John Dowie and Matthew Henry.
The best time to know and serve God is now. Surrender your heart to Jesus and accept Him as your personal Saviour and Lord. Be involved in God’s work in the church – singing in the choir, caring for the needy, preaching the gospel, teaching new converts, and many other works. Answer God’s call now.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, please forgive me for my past excuses. I surrender myself to You now, use me.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)

4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
