Topic: I Am A Wonder To Many
Text: Psalm 71:3-8
4Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.
6By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
7I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
8Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
Key Verse: “I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge” (Psalm 71:7).
Message
You are a wonder, for you are wonderfully made, no matter your perception. Norman Peale said, “A fact facing us is not as important as our attitude towards it.” Nick Vujicic is a great example of what God can do. Born without limbs, one would have thought that he would end up being useless to himself, family, and the world. After his conversion, despite his seeming deformity, God chose to make him a wonder. He stands as a great testimony to the wonders of God’s greatness when we yield ourselves to Him. He is married today with kids, influencing millions across the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Many youths give up easily when they encounter challenges, or when they think of how disadvantaged they are because of their family background, physical appearance, etc. But God is not bound by our limitations. We must begin by surrendering our lives to Him in repentance and believing in His power to change our circumstances for the better. You are not a write-off; you are a wonder of God’s creation to manifest God’s glory to the world.
Quote: You are not a write-off
Challenge: Refuse to give up on God or yourself.
Prayer for today: Holy Father, make me a wonder to the world, in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
